Who We Are

Rachael Macintyre - Artistic Director

Rachael is a Scottish based puppeteer, aerialist and writer. She trained with Puppet Lab in Edinburgh and has worked on many of their projects, as well as their sister company Vision Mechanics who she has performed and project managed for. Rachael has trained in aerial dance and acrobatics with All or Nothing Aerial Dance, Strangebird Zirkus, Fidget Feet, Paper Doll Militia and Aerial Edge. Rachael graduated in 2008 with a BA Hons in English and Creative Writing from the University of Wales and has since written for local and national magazines and newspapers (The Skinny and The Herald, among others) as well as being commissioned in 2010 to write a 10 minute screenplay for a children’s educational film. 


Rachael's current projects include:

Embrace. An India (Darpana)-Scotland (Vision Mechanics) collaboration which will incorporate aerial, puppetry and dance and will premier in the UK at Manipulate Festival, Edinburgh in 2014.

Funnybones. Rachael will Direct the newest production of the classic Puppet Lab show; touring in autumn 2012

Faerie Stories. Rachael is currently fundraising and managing the tour for Round String Theatre's exciting new production, blending music, dance and puppetry to share Scottish Gaelic fairy stories to children aged 6-11 years. Faerie Stories will tour the UK in spring 2013

Miss.Fit Sisters. Rachael is one third of the fantastic aerial trio who ran their first, and very successful, Miss.Fit Sisters' Vintage Circus event during the 2012 Edinburgh Festival. They specialise in aerial hoop, silks, rope and trapeze. www.facebook.com/missfitsisters
